The New and Improved ProPoor

Posted by yoomilee on Jun 1, 2006
Have you taken a look at ProPoor lately? We have a lot to report! With the help of the CharityFocus Tech Team, and the new and expanded ProPoor Team, we have had our best month to date:

With our cleaner and easier to use homepage, traffic continues to climb, setting new records three months in a row. Our traffic for May: 494,247.

The homepage serves fresh entries from the new and improved ProPoor Blog. In May, we posted 51 blog entries and had 78 comments.

ProPoor Team member Nisha Srinivasan continues to scour the South Asian news for stories of interest to the community. Our News page now has development news, "good" news, and current news from the ProPoor Blog. These stories are sent out as part of a weekly digest to over 7,200 subscribers. In May, we added 144 subscribers.

In May, we also added 39 new NGOs to the ProPoor database of South Asian NGOs. NGOs whose information has recently been updated or added are featured in the "NGO Spotlight" on the right hand side of our homepage, a feature much appreciated by the NGOs.

Our team of email respondents including new volunteer Hemanta Nijhawan, Vandana J. and Samihita Kaw answered more than 240 email messages in May.

You too, can help. Drop us a line if you see news, success stories, announcements, or appeals that we should post or if come across NGOs or donor agencies that we should add to the database.

If you'd like to join our team as a regular volunteer, please let me know.

Keep checking the live statistics displayed at the bottom of each ProPoor page!
