George's Om Mani Padme Hum

Posted by Nipun Mehta on Jun 19, 2007

On many Wednesdays, George has played a beautiful chant (inspired by Ven. Karma Lekshe).

Deepak has kindly placed a version of it online: --Listen here--

Om Mani Padme Hum
Om Mani Padme Hum
Om Mani Padme Hum

As we walk on the path
Pilgrims in search of truth
We seek Enlightenment
For every sentient being

Om Mani Padme Hum

Mindful of what we do
we concentrate the mind
Realization
Is what we hope to find

Om Mani Padme Hum

Hearts full of love and joy
And true compassion
Illumination
Will bring us peace of mind

Om Mani Padme Hum

So now with full voice sing
Sister and brotherhood
To share enlightenment
With every sentient being

Om Mani Padme Hum
Om Mani Padme Hum
Om Mani Padme Hum
Om

George,

I first heard this chant when the Ven. Karma Lekshe came to speak and it hummed within me for days afterwards....after hearing you play and sing it several times, the tune and the chant have been inscribed within my heart and I find myself "playing" it in my head. Sometimes while driving to work, I sing it out loud (not as well as you!) the whole way and it is incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
