I have a friend who works as a reporter for a well-known national newspaper. In the last year or so, one responsibility that has gobbled up an increasingly inordinate amount of her time is responding to reader email.
"No one ever writes to express pleasure," observed my beleaguered pal. "They only write when they're mad."
Maybe not always. Within hours of sending out "
Do You Realize?" to KarmaTube's 9000+ subscribers last Friday afternoon, a waterfall of emails from all over the world arrived at my in-box. Scrolling through them while standing on a busy street corner in midtown Manhattan--as each note appeared by turn on the small, scratched-up screen of my Treo--couldn't help but bring a grin to my face.
Here's a sampling of some of them:
"Do you realize, what a needed medicine this is--in our world, and in our society. Kudos to all of you for a love well done. Aloha."
--Paul
"I'm having difficulty coming up with the words to describe how deeply this video and music touched me. Do you realize how beautiful and powerful Gretchen's message is?"
--Dana
"When the sun goes down on each of us personally, it is an illusion for others to watch--like the sunset. Just like the sun, we are floating in space, and will never really die but will continue on in a different place, a different space."
--KJB
"One of the Kings in this video tips the crown! While tipping the hat is a gesture of politeness, tipping the crown takes it to another level--showing us that leadership and beauty are privileges bestowed upon one by others that must be acknowledged. And I love that this person does it spontaneously as if it is the most natural thing to do."
--Ragu
"Lately I can't seem to be bothered with listening to music, but this song has made me realize there's a lot of music that can make me feel like myself but better, and I just need to look for it. "
--Choclet
"A beautiful message that should be broadcast all over the United States. We all have beautiful faces, and we all should realize that each and every person is a recipient of the magnificent gift of life."
--PK
"I am so touched by this song right now that my heart feels extreme sorrow. It should be shared even more internationally."
--Lydia
One never knows the chords that will be touched in you. Do keep letting us know when, and how.
