Nina Simons is the founder of Bioneers, which holds a major 3000+ person event in Marin to bring forth the ideas of socially conscious thought leaders.     Many of the talks are also online -- like last yeary's Paul Hawken talk on  World's Largest Movement -- and creates a lot of follow-up buzz in the worlds of sustainability.  At last year's event, Leonardo DiCaprio's mom ran into one of the organizers and that gave birth to the 11th Hour movie that Bioneers put together.

Bioneers 2007 event was this last weekend, and Nina kindly gifted two coveted theatre passes to Guri and I to represent the spirit of CharityFocus; we paid it forward to Ragu and Nisha, who have been longtime Bioneers fans.  Upon hearing this, Nina gifted us with two more passes. :)  And all four of us (with Aum!) got to be at the event.  Fun, fun.  (And yes, we are actively soliciting radical ideas for tagging Nina :)).

Although I was only able to attend on Saturday, I heard bunch of great speakers and was most impressed by Marjora Carter and Eve Ensler.   One workshops I didn't get to attend was of 13 indigenous grandmas who travel the world to pray for the well being of humanity.  Here's a great photo of them:

Thank you, Nina!
