Ryan Truscott's third-grade class in Montana did a smile experiment that was reported in the Billing Gazette last weekend:

On Thursday, the Poly Drive Elementary students sat down with their teacher and the classroom foster grandmother, Carole Allison, also known as "Grandmama," and shared their impressions from the October project, which had the kids performing a kind act and passing on a "smile card" to the recipient.

"On a beautiful day, I was at Colorado. I thought it was a great time to use my card. Because there was a sick cat. There was a cat named Midnight, a black cat that didn't eat that good. She was a very skinny cat. Because of me she ate so much better. I didn't have or give my card. I wish I did," a student named Maysee wrote.

Sophia wrote, "On a chilly Sunday afternoon I was outside on my swing playing with a snowball that I had made. And then I saw my elderly neighbors' walkway. It was a mess, there was snow everywhere. I grabbed my shovel and went over to the walkway and shoveled. When I was done, I put my card on the porch, then I went home."

That's awesome.  But the most impressive part is that we didn't even know about this story -- Pavi found it while looking for a DailyGood story!    Like various stories in the past, it's rather beautiful that we get to be absolutely anonymous.

To date, more than 850,000 Smile Cards -- mostly in quantities of 10 cards! -- have spread with the help of more than 40 distributed shippers around the world.  On top of that, thousands of volunteer hours continue to be poured into building the online platform that makes all these possibilities manifest.  Thank you to all those invisible heroes who embody the joy of doing small acts of love, and showcase the power of being the change!
