Manav Sadhna
Manav Sadhna, an NGO based at Gandhi Ashram-Ahmedabad and a registered trust in India and USA, is comprised of a young group of dedicated individuals working for the upliftment of poor and needy children Inspired by Gandhian philosophy, Manav Sadhna works in the area of education, nutrition, alternatives to child labor and medical aid to women and children living in the slums.
Inspired by the Gandhian principles of truth, non-violence, uplifting the poor and oppressed, promoting health and sanitation, and to educate the poor masses, Manav Sadhna has begun a movement to adapt these ideals to the current and complex issues facing not only India, but the world. Manav Sadhna wishes to plant the seeds of hope and inspiration among all people, especially those children who have been neglected by society.
How CharityFocus is Helping:
Manav Sadhna was CharityFocus's pilot organization as it launched a new service for rural grassroots NGOs called Community Shops. Community Shops, or cShops, is an Internet storefront that allows grassroots communities to sell their goods online, gives consumers a chance to participate in social change, and provides an opportunity for volunteers to increase the charity in their lives. CharityFocus volunteers helped Manav Sadhna design their products, write their content, select the products to sell, develop their shop, and market the cShop. |
